Completed a minimum of 1 year of full-time academic studies at an accredited college since leaving high school;
Completed the appropriate program-specific prerequisite courses; and
To be considered for admission as a Mature/Adult Student, you must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident who has not been engaged in full-time studies for at least two years and have completed less than one year at a community college. You have never attended a University and do not meet the General Admission Requirements.
To meet the General Admission Requirements to Lakehead, you will need to:
Successfully complete the required prerequisite courses at the Grade 12 U or M level, or equivalent, for your program of choice, and
Demonstrate academic success to the Admissions Committee:
This may, at the request of the Admissions Committee, involve the completion of an Admissions Profile Form
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme applicants who achieve their diploma with a total score of at least 24 may be eligible for admission. Three Higher Level subjects must be completed. Prerequisite courses can be presented at either Standard Level or Higher Level. Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission. Competitive programs may require a total score greater than 24.
For programs requiring Ontario's MHF4U - Advanced Functions (All Honours Science programs and Bachelor of Engineering), applicants must present one of the following courses:

Candidates completing a minimum of 12 academic semester courses in a DEC program, including program-specific prerequisite courses
Minimum 70% overall final average
Candidates completing a DEC with a minimum of 24 academic semester courses may be considered for up to one year of advanced standing credit towards completion of their Lakehead degree
